The term ‘Rehab’ is a familiar one. It is short for rehabilitation and indicates the action of restoring the full functionality of health and movement through therapy and training routines. Rehab is an injured person’s go-to treatment for recovery as it involves the progression of therapeutic exercises for the purpose of recovering from an injury or a condition.

But what does Prehab mean? Is it connected to rehab?

(P)rehab

While Rehab is remedial, Prehab is preventive. Prehab involves strengthening and training the muscle group to function properly and grow properly so that it is easier and faster to recover in case of injury. It is a sort of a preventive rehab. The more prehab you do, the less rehab you will need to do.

Prehab is one of the most essential aspect of staying healthy and injury free. Massage therapy is the most important part of a prehab routine. Massage therapy helps you to recover faster and stay healthier. It improves the blood flow and muscle movement range, thus reducing / preventing injuries from happening. Muscle soreness also goes away more quickly with prehab.

Massage, stretching, joint mobilisation techniques are all part of (p)rehab routines.

The benefits

Thai bodywork has many health benefits. It lowers stress, boosts energy, improves athletic performance and reduces the chances of injuries. Thai massage increases the energy and mental simulation which is very useful in unleashing the full potential of an athlete.

Thai massage technique is based on Sen or energy lines. Tight muscles can also cause blockage of energy lines. By using different techniques to unblock Sen, Thai massage corrects the flow of life energy.

Thai prehab massage / bodywork comprises a regimen of therapy, exercise, stretching and breathing training that is designed specifically to improve athletic performance and health by improving muscular flexibility, strength and energy. Thai prehab massage combines touch and physical stretching techniques. This improves mental and physical health. The therapy encourages a better range of motion and enhanced peace of mind. By manipulating the body energy, Thai massage increases the level of oxygen in the blood, decreases muscle toxins, improves circulation, eases tensions and enhances flexibility.

Thai massage incorporates yoga-like stretches to reduce stress and improve circulation. The gradual, gentle stretching will enhance the person’s flexibility over time, allowing a greater range of motion. Thai massage also improves the circulation of the fluid in the joints which reduces friction between the joints and improves joint mobility and range of motion.
